Tampa,FL Clair-Mel Area

This is a true story. We were in our late 20's or early 30's when this occurred.My Husband(at that time)and I had purchased a house in the Clair-Mel Area of Tampa FL.We had lived there for about 2 years when this happened.

One night My Husband and I were sitting in the living room. We had lit some candles because the power had gone out. I was reading a book and my Husband was just sitting in his recliner. A couple of hours had passed and the power still wasn't on,so my Husband said he was going to bed.I told him I was going to stay up and read. He said okay and went to bed.

After about an hour I looked around the room and then into the kitchen.We have a door that leads from the kitchen into the dining room and den.On that door I seen a Silhouette of a man's head.He had a top hat on and a long pointed nose. It was only a side profile.He looked to be from the early 1900's.I rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing or imagining things.It was still there. I got chills up and down my arms.I was a little bit scared and thinking to myself that I was just letting my imagination run away with me.(I happened to be reading a book on true Ghost Stories).

I slowly walked into the kitchen and started opening and closing the upper and lower kitchen cabinet doors to make sure that it wasn't the cabinet doors that was creating shadows on the door.The silhouette was still there and never moved as I opened each door.I also opened the oven and refrigerator doors.The silhouette never altered or changed shape.It was still there.

That spooked me so i got scared and ran into the bedroom where my Husband was fast asleep. I walked over and shook him and said,"----, wake up!I seen a shadow on the kitchen door! Come and look!We both ran into the kitchen, but the silhouette was gone.
I told him it was just there a minute ago and how I had tried to debunk it before I came to get him.I never had an experience like that in the house after that.Weird and unusual things have happened to me throughout my life as a child and as an adult.
