There was a girl, Emily, who was running away to elope with her lover and they were going to meet at this bridge and then leave. Emily went and waited all night, but he never showed. She killed herself either by hanging herself in the rafters or jumping off the bridge into the river below. There have been sightings for a long time. Before cars were invented, people reported having their cattle have long scratches after going over the bridge. Nowadays, people report having long scratches on their cars after going over the bridge. People also occasionally see Emily. Some people have reported things showing up in pictures they took that weren't there.
