Rumored to be built on top of a old dairy farm, The old farm was named Jones Dairy Farm, he was run off his land by the state of Iowa they payed him very little for his land.


there have been many reports of people hearing farm noises and seeing an old farmer walking around with a shovel over his shoulder towards the Gate.

That man was a cherokee indian so beware of the des moines airport.

The old man you are referring to in this story is my great grandfather. The story says he was rumored to be a cherokee indian. However, that is not the case. My grandfather was of welsh decent.The story about him being run off his land is true though. How do I know it is true? Because that story has been passed down through my family and I heard it from them before I read it here.Whats rather interesting is that my father has a picture of the old man you are referring to and his wife and other family members from that time, on his dining room wall. Pretty neat to see what immigrants looked like from that period.Just wanted to get the story straight for you.
