Casa Monica Hotel, St. Augustine FL

I was a housekeeper at Casa Monica for almost a year. I was born and raised in St. Augustine so I know a lot bout local haunts:) Casa will not tell you they are haunted. Being a housekeeper though, you see and hear many strange things. The fourth floor is where the most "activity" is located. Children can be heard running up and down it from the floor below even when there are none on the floor. I experienced this a few times. Some of the suites will not be cleaned by just one person. Many housekeepers refuse to clean certain ones. 511 for example, a man hung himself upstairs. The top floor of the suite is a bathroom and there was another stairwell, but it has since been boarded up and painted over. The room just below it, 411 a guest woke up with many people standing in his room. The Ponce de Leon suite is the one that scared me the most. I would be on the second floor of it when music would come from the first floor. I went downstairs and the radio would be on after I was sure it was off. A woman in white is said to be haunting it. She was photographed and is in a picture that is in each room. She has a parasol and is standing in front of Lightner Museum which is just west of Casa. Last but not least, there is the Flagler Suite. I have seen pictures of a childs hand print that will appear on the first floor bathroom mirror as well as there being an account from a previous housekeeper. She knocked on the door to clean up and she heard a voice say "We've been expecting you". She opened the door expecting there to be a family inside but no one was in the room.
